Why this reading log works

A year of reading is surprisingly easy to forget — by December you can’t recall the brilliant book you finished in February. Logging each one with the author, the date and a rating turns scattered reading into a record you can look back on, recommend from, and quietly feel proud of.

How to use it

  1. Print the PDF (US Letter or A4) and keep it with your current read.
  2. Each time you finish a book, add the title, author, date and a star rating.
  3. At year’s end you’ve got a full list — your favourites, your pace, your next recommendations.

Pairs well with: Habit Tracker · Kids Reading Log · Gratitude Journal

Questions

Is this for a reading challenge?+

It's perfect for one. Logging each finished book with a rating is the easiest way to track a 'read X books this year' goal and see your progress stack up.

Just for novels?+

Anything you read — fiction, non-fiction, audiobooks, even big articles if you like. The point is to notice and remember what you've read, not to police the format.
